With the arrival of the PPP Government they have designated Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University, Larkana a separate franchise for the all medical colleges and institutes of Larkana under which following colleges are assigned with their medical teaching responsibilities

• Chandka Medical College Larkana
• Ghulam Mohammed Mahar Medical College Sukkur
• Gambat Institute of Medical Science

SMBBMU university has got their new Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sikandar Ali Shaikh. He has started the university curriculum activities form the 9th July, 2009. New admissions are expected soon to be enrolled as undergraduate doctors, under

• MBBS and
• B.D.S.
• Pharmacy studies will also be soon acquired

Entry Test for the year 2009 has been announced for all Medical Sindh Universities including LUHMS and respective colleges.
