Miss Pakistan 2009Ayesha Gillani, the beauty pageant winner for the Miss Pakistan 2009. Her second name Gillani may misguide you being the relative of current Prime Minister but she is not.

Ayesha is a lovely girl from New York who represented and won for her country in an international event (only for its venue location) as Miss Pakistan. If we see carefully the coverage of event we might come across some harsh writing for the event and for the so called women friendly image of Pakistan.

International media and critic voices always mentions that “…Pakistan can’t afford such a beauty pageant”. Some how for the current state of the event yes we can not. We are Muslims, our country existence based on our religion. Their selection criteria and exposure of bare bodies are against our basic rules of religion. So we would love to follow our own ways for choosing a girl to be named as Miss Pakistan.

These ways at-least should not involved revealing bodies, as there is no hard and fast rule that in bikinis a girl look more beautiful. Main motive should be that these girls should earn some respect first to get the title in the pageant.

Last year winner Natasha Paracha has earned some good repute working as UNO member serving the human welfare programs, despite of her bikini photos she was accepted as Miss Pakistan but not welcomed.
