PTCL Changing Local Codes of Karachi and Lahore
According to the guidelines of PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) PTCL will be changing and updating the local codes of Karachi and Lahore, by adding a digit 3 in its numbers. This move has been taken to enhance capacity and to widen the network of subscribers. This update process is a part of NNP ( National Numbering Plan ) from PTA.
This change is will increase the capacity approx: 10 million till 2050.
This new change in the local numbers of two big countries will include the migration from 7 to 8 digit, all old numbers will be accessible till 30th of June only, after that only 8 digit numbers will be accessible with no subsequent change in area code.
