So now PTCL have come up with a new extravaganza of multimedia convergence in the country. Almost 48 hours ago PTCL has also start the marketing of the newly offered services on media, with name of PTCL Smart.
PTCL Smart is a generic product line from PTCL that will allow its customers to access applications such as television, broadband, telephony and other interactive services.
He said that smart TV is a PTCL digital multi channel television service that would deliver television programmes to households via broadband connection using the inter-net protocol (IP) technology. He said that wireless technologies are attractive for all countries seeking to ensure access to information communication technologies (ICT) and the creation of the information society.
Following this new trend by PTCL will lead in the forcoming development of advance services, which Pakistan are lacking like 3G, if this trend is used positively.

I am using Ptcl Smart T.V,it is good offer by PTCL.But there are most of Pakistani channels.On the other side,cable network operators are showing the ZEE TV,SONY TV,STAR ONE,COLOR TV.These are the favourite channels of the public.This is the reason that public has not given the proper response to the PTCL SMART TV.If the PTCL higher official look into this matter the result will be different.Second Rs.500 for device and Rs.300 for rent is too much for the low paid official. PTCL Doesn’t have the expertise to handle issues on Fibre Optic. Azizabad Telephone Exchange, Karachi recently rejected my application for Smart TV since they are unable to resolve issues concerning to Fibre Optic. Although they claim that they are providing Broadband and Smart TV on Fibre Optic but facts are otherwise.
I am among those who believe that one cannot really trust PTCL and they are loosing huge revenue because of their inefficient management. My application # 20902080440273 dated 08.02.2009 for Smart TV has been withdrawn by Azizabad Telephone Exchange themselves exactly after 10 days when they were supposed to install Smart TV at my residence. I was really anguished when I came to know about this development only when I called 1236 to inquire about the status of my application but nobody from exchange bothered to inform me. Technical Issue has been a common term of PTCL and I am hearing this word since the day I am using PTCL Broadband. It looks that they have failed to handle a large numbers of applications and refusing them on technical grounds just to gain some time. I must add here that nobody told me about any expected technical issue at the time of booking nor they have mentioned any such thing on their website.
A large number of Baloch people are enjoying PTCL SMART T.V in karachi but it is regret to say that PTV BOLAN is not added into PTCL SMART. It is requested to kindly add this channel also.

Its very nice that ptcl have launcedh this services, but compare to dth service in india, its very costly and lacking of many indian, english & sports channels like star plus, sony, zee, max, mm1, mm2, mnet, super movies, cinema city, super sports, start cricket etc. I hope they will improve themself in this area, thanks.
add more sports channels otherwise no one like this smart tv sports channels like super sports, sky sports, star cricket, and euro sports channel and also add mm1, mm2, mnet, for more attraction thanks kindly reply me when you started more sports cnannel specially super sport thanks.

the launching of ptcl smart is a good move towards achieving a information society which is the need of hour.however as a marketting issue the service should have been provided free of cost for at least 1 week to judge its efficiency both in terms of quality and quantity to make it compare with the rest of the such services to make it sure that the customer has a opted for a best option
