Honor killings not a defamed name since last two or three decades in our country, as well as another fact for the same time Pakistani’s going America. When pakistani people are migrated to America, they unfortunately don’t get change by their minds and many scenes have appeared of feeling drasttic imbalance in their new american lives as compared to pakistani desi life. America where justice holds the society to pay for their crimes, and almost full protection to any harrasment, when these people leave pakistan they are also leave a society full of disrespect killings, odd traditional values, pacts, and one of them is Honor Killings and Vanni.

Sandeela Kanwal traveled from America to Pakistan for an arranged marriage to a cousin twice her agAfter their marriage, Kanwal had lived in the United States apart from her husband, who remained in Pakistan.

She was reunited with him in April at her family home in Atlanta, but he moved to Chicago days later, leaving her alone once again.

On July 1, Kanwal filed for divorce, a prospect her father, a 52-year-old immigrant from Pakistan, would not entertain.

Investigators say that after an argument on the night of July 5, he strangled Kanwal with a bungee cord. He could not accept the “disgrace” a divorce or affair would bring on his family, according to police.

Chaudhry Rashid, was arrested by police as the suspect for what some have called an “honor killing.”

The UN estimated that nearly 5,000 women are murdered in similar honor killings yearly for immodesty or refusing a prosperous arranged marriage. They are now rise in American culture too.
